Backing Up Data Before Enabling Maintenance/Repair Mode

Therefore, it is recommended to perform a full backup before enabling Maintenance/Repair Mode to ensure the integrity and security of your data. Here are the backup methods using common brands as examples.

Google Pixel :

Go to Settings > System > Backup > Enable Google Cloud Backup

Enabling Maintenance/Repair Mode

The method for enabling Maintenance/Repair Mode may vary depending on the brand. Here are the general steps for enabling Maintenance/Repair Mode on common brand phones:

Google Pixel / OnePlus / OPPO :

  1. Go to Settings > System > Repair Mode.
  2. Follow the prompts to enter your lock screen password, PIN, or pattern.
  3. Once confirmed, the system will restart, and the phone will enter Repair Mode.
Repair Mode (Google, OnePlus, Oppo)

Samsung :

  1. Go to Settings > Battery and Device Care > Maintenance Mode.
  2. Follow the prompts to confirm and choose whether to create a temporary password (optional).
  3. The system will restart and enter Maintenance Mode.

Honor / Huawei :

  1. Open the Huawei/Honor proprietary app.
  2. Go to Services > Quick Services > Maintenance/Repair Mode.
  3. Follow the prompts to enter your lock screen password, PIN, or pattern.
  4. Once confirmed, the system will restart and enter Maintenance/Repair Mode.

Exiting Maintenance/Repair Mode

After the repair is completed, you can exit Maintenance/Repair Mode at any time to restore your phone to normal use. Follow these steps to exit Maintenance/Repair Mode:
  1. Select “Exit Maintenance/Repair Mode” from the top notification bar of go to Settings > Maintenance/Repair Mode and select “Exit Maintenance/Repair Mode”.
  2. Enter your lock screen password, PIN, or pattern to confirm the exit.
  3. The system will restart and return to the state before Maintenance/Repair Mode is activated.
