OnePlus used to deliver impressive mobile devices with “Affordability” at the utmost importance in the mobile phone realm.
OnePlus mobile phones held the moniker as a “Flagship-Killer” by churning out smartphones that are not only on par with top-tier flagships but are also more budget-friendly.
However, over the years OnePlus mobile price has been increasing with each generation released.
In early 2020, OnePlus decided to break away from their “Flagship-Killer” mantra and make their own flagship lineups instead by delivering the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro.
OnePlus phones have a special place in the heart of Singapore. The brand is loved by many in Singapore for its super affordable purchase price compared to other brands.
Now in 2021, OnePlus once again released a new flagship lineup: the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro.
The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro are full-fledged flagship mobile phones. They come with a premium design, vibrant display colors, a huge improvement in the camera setup, a top-tier chipset, and respectable charging speed.
There’s not much downside to this device besides the battery could be better and the hefty price tag. OnePlus mobile prices are increasing as they move into releasing more flagship devices
If you are on a tight budget and have no need for premium powers, you are in luck. OnePlus made a roundtrip back to its roots and released two budget devices back in October 2020: the OnePlus Nord N100 and the Nord N10 5G.
The OnePlus 9 Pro is OnePlus’s new flagship lineup which once again shocked the community with its new high price.
However, you get what you pay for. The OnePlus 9 Pro is a beast of its league.
First, the design on this phone perfectly brings forward the “Burdenless” design: minimalist, efficient, and sleek. There are three color variants for this OnePlus 9 Pro namely Pine Green, Morning Mist ( silver ), and Astral Black.
OnePlus 9 Pro scored an IP rating for dust and water resistance. This is a must feature for a Oneplus mobile phone that is selling at such high prices in Singapore.
Also, unlike other manufacturers, OnePlus does not jump on the “Charger-less” bandwagon. In fact, the OnePlus 9 Pro comes with a charger and cable that is capable of charging at 65W.
The 9 Pro comes with a 4500mAh battery, which is regrettably quite low. However, the phone is capable of going from 0% to 100% below 35minutes with the 65W charging speed. OnePlus also made a huge breakthrough with the 50W wireless charging capability which the 9 Pro can go from 0% to 100% in just 45 minutes.
However, the 50W wireless charging is only found on the OnePlus 9 Pro and not on the OnePlus 9.
The OnePlus 9 Pro is a fast and powerful running Snapdragon 888 chipset.
OnePlus mobile phone has always struggled to catch up with its competitors. This year, however, the OnePlus 9 Pro’s camera is among the best of the best.
You can now find a Hasselblad-branded camera on the OnePlus 9 Pro. The camera array consists of a 48MP wide shooter, a 50MP Ultrawide shooter, an 8MP telephoto lens, and a 2MP monochrome shooter.
Most of the camera sensors are made by using a Sony sensor and Hasselblad color technology, so the photo you take with this phone are providing colors more accurate than before.
When the OnePlus 8 series was introduced, many of the brand’s price-conscious fans were getting uneasy. But OnePlus made a sharp u-turn to comfort its fan base by delivering the OnePlus Nord on 4th August 2020. The OnePlus Nord is the brand’s new phone that provides an almost-flagship level experience. OnePlus comes out with the tag line “pretty much everything you could ask for” for the Nord and it fits the phone so so well. You get a big screen, sustainable power and RAM, a hefty battery and so much more.
The OnePlus Nord has a 6.44-inch AMOLED display that provides a bright and colorful display. The screen is also a Full HD+ display that comes with a whopping 90Hz screen refresh rate.
However, unlike the curved display on its predecessor, you will get a flat display on the Nord.
The selfie camera design is a capsule-shaped design that is located on the top left of the screen and encapsulates a 32MP wide lens and an 8MP ultrawide shooter.
While the rear cameras, on the other hand, are what OnePlus advertised as “Stolen from the OnePlus 8” but with a slight difference in MP for the ultrawide lens.
The rear camera array consists of a 48MP wide lens, an 8MP ultrawide lens, a 5MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens.
Battery on this device is a 4115mAh capacity with fast charging but minus the wireless charging ability. What’s best is the Warp Charger that comes in the box is capable of getting your phone from 0% to 70% charged within 30 minutes.
Like the Nord, the Nord N10 5G is a device that lies in between being a budget phone and a mid-ranger.
The N10 5G, as mentioned in its name, supports 5G connectivity. 5G technology is still in its infant stage and is not widely used in Singapore. However, the technology is sure to be implemented in the future, which is why the Nord N10 is a good future-proof device.
Besides that, the N10 5G also comes with a fast 90Hz refresh rate screen, providing smoother scrolling and better gaming experiences. It also comes with a decent camera array consisting of a wide, ultra-wide, and macro shooter.
The N10 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 690 chipset with 6GB of RAM and a 4300mAh battery. The chipset is definitely not the fastest however, it is considered ok with the price it comes at.
Battery on the N10 5G is also not a lot compared to its competitor, most budget phones usually come with a 5000mAh battery to stay competitive – but the Nord N10 5G is capable of charging at 30W using the cable provided from 0% to 100% under an hour, which is faster than most budget devices.
OnePlus Nord N100 is a phone with the cheapest OnePlus mobile price. EVER.
It has a screen that is capable of a 90Hz refresh rate – albeit only adaptively, a huge 5000mAh battery, a Snapdragon 460 chipset, and an array of low-end cameras.
Regrettably, the N100 does not come with any fast charging capabilities. It only charges at 18W speed which will take quite a while for it to fully charge. However, depending on usage habit, the battery would most likely last for about 2 days.
The chipset on this device is slow but still usable. Since it is marketed as a budget device, one should not expect the device to do wonders.
The camera array on the back is consists of a 13MP main shooter, a 2MP macro lens, and a depth sensor. Photos shot out of this phone are not perfect but are still good. It lacks the dynamic range which can be found in mid-range and high-end devices.
