Trade-In Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: 30 January 2026

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all trade-in and buyback submissions made at Mister Mobile retail branches or through any official Mister Mobile channel. By submitting a device, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

These Trade-In Terms and Conditions operate together with Mister Mobile’s Terms and Conditions, Payment Policy, and Privacy Policy. In the event of any inconsistency, these Trade-In Terms and Conditions shall prevail for matters relating specifically to trade-in and buyback transactions.

1. Preliminary Quote

  • All valuations generated through the Mister Mobile Trade-In Calculator, whether for doorstep or in-store trade-in, are preliminary estimates only.
  • The final valuation will be issued only after Mister Mobile completes full physical inspection, diagnostic testing, and verification of your device.
  • Mister Mobile reserves the right to adjust the valuation or decline the trade-in at any stage if discrepancies or undeclared issues, non-original components, or faults are found.
  • Your quotation will be honoured if you have made a successful reservation and arrive within your reserved time slot, subject to your device passing physical inspection and diagnostics.
  • If no reservation is made, the preliminary quotation remains non-binding and may change at any time based on market conditions and Mister Mobile’s trade-in pricing policy.
  • All trade-in and buyback submissions are subject to Mister Mobile’s final approval. A preliminary quote, whether provided online, via WhatsApp, or in-store, does not guarantee that your device will be accepted.

2. Price Validity

2.1 New Devices (Brand New / Sealed / Opened Units)

  • Your preliminary quote for a new device is valid until 8:00 PM on the next calendar day from the date of issuance.

2.2 Used Devices (Pre-Owned Units)

  • Your preliminary quote for a used device is valid until 8:00 PM on the third calendar day from the date of issuance.

2.3 Expiry of Quotation Validity

If you present your device after the validity period:

  • You must obtain an updated quotation based on prevailing market rates.
  • Mister Mobile may revise or adjust your quotation once validity lapses.
  • You are responsible for checking updated prices if you intend to complete the trade-in on a later date.

2.4 Reservation & Price Lock

  • Your quotation becomes locked only when you make a successful reservation with Mister Mobile.
  • A valid reservation takes precedence over the general price validity periods stated in Sections 2.1 and 2.2.
  • If no reservation is made, your quotation remains non-binding. In the event of any price revision, the latest applicable price will apply.

2.5 No Purchase Requirement

  • Trade-in valuation is based solely on your device’s verified condition and diagnostics.
  • Your decision to purchase any device from Mister Mobile will not affect your trade-in valuation.

2.6 Special Price Validity During New Model Launches

During the launch period of newly released flagship devices (such as Apple iPhone, Samsung Galaxy flagship series, or other high-demand new models), trade-in prices may fluctuate significantly due to rapid market movement.

During such periods:

  • Standard price validity windows stated in Sections 2.1 and 2.2 do not apply.
  • Prices may be revised multiple times within the same day, including every few hours depending on market demand and supply conditions.
  • A preliminary quote is not considered locked unless a reservation has been officially accepted and confirmed by Mister Mobile.
  • Mister Mobile reserves the right to adjust, revise, or withdraw any trade-in quote at any time during launch periods, even after the customer has received an earlier quotation.
  • Customers are advised to check the latest available pricing before visiting the store, especially during peak launch periods where volatility is expected.

This special clause overrides all standard validity terms when a new flagship model is released and market prices are unstable.

3. Bulk Transactions

  • Preliminary quotations apply only to trade-ins involving fewer than three (3) units of the same model.
  • If you intend to sell three (3) or more units of the same model, you must obtain a manual price confirmation via WhatsApp before visiting the store.
  • Splitting bulk units across multiple visits or invoices is not permitted. All units of the same model traded in by the same customer within a short period may be classified as a bulk transaction at Mister Mobile’s discretion.
  • Mister Mobile reserves the right to classify repeated submissions of identical models within a short period as a bulk transaction, even if submitted across separate visits.
  • Mister Mobile may revise, adjust, or decline bulk transactions based on market fluctuations, inventory conditions, and supply constraints.
  • Bulk reservations must be manually confirmed by customer service or in-store staff. Automatic online reservation price locking does not apply to bulk transactions.

4. Eligibility & Device Condition Requirements

These requirements determine whether your device qualifies for trade-in evaluation and how its valuation will be graded.

4.1 New Devices (Brand New / Sealed / Recently Opened or Unused Units)

Your device will be classified as New Device only if all of the following conditions are met:

  • Authenticity & Ownership
    • The device must be authentic, original, and legally owned by you.
    • Mister Mobile may request a valid purchase receipt for verification.
  • Opening Status
    • Sealed and Not Activated
    • Opened but Unused units (e.g., telco contract renewal devices opened only for verification), provided the device remains unactivated or shows no signs of personal use and is submitted with full box and unused accessories.
  • Activation Status
    • Devices may qualify as New Device if activated within the following timeframes:
    • Activated within 3 days
    • Activated within 7 days
    • Activated within 14 days

Earlier activation generally results in higher depreciation. Devices opened or activated for more than 14 days will be classified as Used Device.

Valuation Note: Devices that are opened or activated (3 / 7 / 14 days) may still qualify under New Devices eligibility, but their valuation will differ depending on activation age. Earlier activation generally results in higher depreciation.

4.2 Used Devices (Pre-Owned / Opened Units)

A device will be classified as Used Mobile when it does not meet New Devices requirements and meets the following criteria:

  • Authenticity & Functionality
    • Your device must:
    • Be authentic, original, and legally owned
    • Be in a condition that allows reasonable inspection and diagnostic evaluation

Devices originating from different markets or regions, or devices that fail to power on, cannot be reasonably tested, or exhibit critical hardware faults, may, at Mister Mobile’s discretion, be considered for evaluation under specialised fault categories or rejected depending on compatibility, resale feasibility, and severity.

  • Specialised Fault Evaluation

Certain devices that do not fully meet standard functionality requirements may, at Mister Mobile’s discretion, be considered for valuation under specialised fault categories.

Such devices are not eligible for automated or instant quotations and are subject to manual inspection and assessment. Acceptance and final valuation are determined based on repair feasibility, parts availability, and Mister Mobile’s discretion.

  • Accessories & Packaging
    • Used devices are generally to be submitted with essential accessories.
    • Missing boxes or accessories may result in valuation adjustments.
  • Software Requirements
    • Your device must be:
    • Fully reset
    • Free from all activation locks, user accounts, passwords, screen locks, and SIM/eSIM profiles

Note: Devices that remain locked or restricted cannot proceed to valuation and must be unlocked prior to submission.

  • Hardware Integrity Requirements

Mister Mobile evaluates hardware integrity based on externally visible conditions and diagnostic results. Findings that may affect the final valuation or result in rejection include, but are not limited to, conditions involving:

  • Unauthorised software or system modifications
  • Missing, altered, or non-original components
  • Undisclosed hardware or functional faults
  • Conditions affecting proper testing, safe operation, or resale suitability

Devices showing such conditions may be revalued under specialised fault categories or declined, depending on severity and repair feasibility, at Mister Mobile’s discretion.

  • Cosmetic Condition Assessment

Mister Mobile evaluates the physical and cosmetic condition of your device based on its:

  • Screen condition
  • Exterior housing condition
  • Presence of scratches, dents, cracks, or other wear

Any online or indicative cosmetic selection or estimation is for reference only. Final cosmetic grading and valuation are determined after verified physical inspection, as actual wear may differ from the customer’s initial selection.

Valuation Note: Final valuation is based on Mister Mobile’s verified physical inspection, cosmetic grading, diagnostic results, and repair history. Any differences between the online condition selected and the device’s actual condition may result in valuation adjustments.

5. Prohibited Devices (Locked, Financed, Blacklisted, or Stolen)

These devices cannot be accepted under any circumstances, regardless of physical condition or functionality. This section addresses legal and compliance restrictions, not valuation. You must not submit devices with any of the following:

  • Carrier lock / SIM lock
  • Corporate or device management lock
  • Apple ID / iCloud lock
  • Google / Samsung / Mi / Huawei account lock
  • Blacklisted IMEI
  • Reported lost or stolen devices
  • Active telco instalment or financing plans

Devices that cannot be unlocked or verified on the spot will not be accepted.

If such issues are discovered before or after payout:

  • You must repurchase the device from Mister Mobile immediately;
  • Mister Mobile may file a police report as required under Singapore’s Secondhand Dealers Act;
  • You remain legally responsible for the device and any associated issues.
  • Mister Mobile may provide your details to the relevant authorities under the Secondhand Dealers Act.

6. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring the following before submitting your device to Mister Mobile:

  • Ownership & Legitimacy
    • You are the rightful and legal owner of the device and have full authority to sell or trade it in.
  • Removal of Personal Data & Accounts
    • All personal data, passwords, screen locks, SIM/eSIM profiles, and cloud accounts (including Apple ID/iCloud, Google, Samsung, Mi, Huawei, or other manufacturer accounts) must be fully removed prior to submission.
  • Factory Reset Requirement
    • The device must be fully reset to factory settings, with all activation locks removed. Devices that are not fully unlocked may be refused.
  • Accuracy of Information
    • All information you provide regarding device ownership, condition, faults, repair history, and authenticity must be truthful and accurate.
    • Mister Mobile may revise the valuation or decline the trade-in if discrepancies or undeclared issues are discovered.
  • Data Privacy & Liability
    • Mister Mobile is not liable for any loss of data, privacy issues, or personal information remaining on devices submitted for trade-in.
  • Availability for Contact
    • You must remain contactable during the inspection and evaluation process. Delays caused by unavailability may affect the processing time of your trade-in.

7. Identity Verification

In accordance with Singapore’s Secondhand Dealers Act and regulatory requirements:

  • You must present your NRIC, passport, or any valid government-issued photo ID for identity verification.
  • Only original and valid identification documents will be accepted. Mister Mobile may request additional information if required for compliance purposes.
  • Mister Mobile is legally required to record customer particulars for secondhand transaction reporting.
  • Mister Mobile may decline the trade-in if identity verification cannot be completed or if you refuse to provide the required documentation.

8. Trade-In & Buyback Process

Your trade-in/buyback will follow these steps:

  • Preliminary Quote
    • A non-binding estimate generated online, via WhatsApp, or through the Trade-In Calculator.
  • Physical Inspection
    • Visual assessment of the device’s physical and cosmetic condition.
  • Diagnostics
    • Verification of IMEI, activation lock status, and hardware and software functionality through diagnostic testing.
  • Final Valuation
    • The final valuation is determined based on Mister Mobile’s verified inspection results, diagnostic findings, and technical assessment. Once issued, the final valuation supersedes all prior quotations.
  • Acceptance Decision
    • You may choose to accept or decline the final valuation.
  • Payout
    • Payment will be issued via PayNow only after you accept the final valuation.

Mister Mobile may revise the valuation or reject your device if discrepancies or undeclared issues are discovered during the process. You agree to remain contactable during the inspection and evaluation of your device. Once your device is submitted for inspection, all evaluations conducted by Mister Mobile are based on our technical assessment.

Mister Mobile is not liable for any delays, missed updates, or complications arising from your unavailability or failure to respond. Inspection and diagnostics may take longer during peak hours or when deeper testing is required.

9. Re-Evaluation & Hidden Issues

Mister Mobile may conduct extended or additional diagnostic testing on your device during the evaluation process. This may include deeper checks beyond the initial inspection.

If further issues are identified, including but not limited to:

  • Motherboard defects
  • Liquid damage
  • Non-original or mismatched components
  • Hidden faults not immediately detectable during the initial check
  • Any discrepancies between declared and actual condition

Mister Mobile may issue a revised valuation. You may choose to accept or decline the updated offer.

In the event of any dispute regarding the device condition or final valuation, Mister Mobile’s diagnostic results and technical assessment shall be considered final for the purpose of this trade-in transaction.

10. Data Removal & Ownership Transfer

  • Before Submission

You are responsible for ensuring that the device is fully prepared for trade-in. Before submitting your device, you must:

    • Back up all personal data
    • Remove all accounts, SIM/eSIM profiles, and security locks
    • Perform a full factory reset

Mister Mobile does not provide data transfer, data removal, or device preparation services as part of the trade-in process. Mister Mobile shall not be liable for any data loss, privacy breaches, or issues arising from data remaining on the device.

  • After Payout

Once the final valuation is accepted and payment is issued:

    • Ownership of the device transfers immediately to Mister Mobile
    • The transaction becomes final and irreversible
    • The device cannot be requested back under any circumstances

Mister Mobile may process, refurbish, recycle, or resell the device at its discretion.

11. Finality of Transaction

Once you accept the final valuation and payment has been issued:

  • The transaction is considered complete, final, and irreversible.
  • No cancellations, reversals, or refunds will be permitted under any circumstances.
  • You acknowledge that ownership of the device has already transferred to Mister Mobile, and you no longer hold any rights or claims to the device.
  • Mister Mobile is not responsible for any delays or failed payments arising from incorrect or incomplete payment details provided by you, or from bank or payment processing times beyond our control.
  • You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of your PayNow details at the point of transaction. Payments sent to an incorrect PayNow number due to customer error cannot be reversed, retrieved, or refunded.
  • Mister Mobile is not obligated to recover, return, or retrieve any personal data, accessories, or items left in the device after the transaction is completed.

12. Special Cases

Mister Mobile may decline or adjust valuation for devices that:

  • Have tampered, altered, or mismatched IMEI numbers
  • Cannot be activated or verified
  • Contain non-original or incompatible components
  • Present fraud, safety, or regulatory concerns
  • Display undisclosed internal faults or prior repairs

If these issues are detected at any point:

  • Mister Mobile will contact you
  • If the issue cannot be resolved, Mister Mobile may file a police report under the Secondhand Dealers Act

13. Amendments to These Terms

Mister Mobile may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Revised terms will take effect upon publication with a new Effective Date and will apply to future transactions only, unless otherwise stated. In the event of any discrepancy, the version published on the official Mister Mobile website shall prevail.
