I had the privilege of attending the Singapore launch event and getting hands-on time with both models, and they largely deliver on the hype.

Powered by octa-core MediaTek chips and supported by Xiaomi’s HyperOS / HyperAI ecosystem, these phones combine ambitious performance, sharp design, and a camera system with Leica Summilux lenses. Design and Display

Both the Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro share a premium design with flat panels, IP68‑rated aluminium frames and square Leica‑branded camera modules. Their 6.83‑inch AMOLED displays stretch almost edge‑to‑edge, delivering Dolby Vision® support and deep blacks for a cinematic experience. Peak brightness reaches 3200 nits, ensuring legibility even under bright sunlight, while TÜV Rheinland hardware‑certified low blue‑light, flicker‑free and circadian‑friendly modes help reduce eye strain during prolonged use. A 120 Hz refresh rate on the Xiaomi 15T keeps scrolling smooth, and the IP68 rating means the device can withstand dust and splashes.

Similarly to the 15T, the Xiaomi 15T Pro retains the same 6.83‑inch AMOLED panel and durable construction but steps up the refresh rate to 144 Hz. This higher refresh rate rivals many monitors, making gaming and video playback feel exceptionally fluid. Like its sibling, the 15T Pro also boasts Dolby Vision®, HDR10+, a peak brightness of 3200 nits and the same TÜV Rheinland low‑blue‑light, flicker‑free and circadian‑friendly certifications, offering bright, comfortable viewing in a range of lighting conditions.

A 5500 mAh battery powers both devices, and Xiaomi’s advanced 3D IceLoop cooling system helps maintain performance during intense gaming or multitasking sessions, while its 67 W wired HyperCharge reduces downtime. In terms of processing power, the 15T packs an octa‑core Dimensity 8400‑Ultra, which delivers efficient performance while balancing power consumption. An in‑display fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock keep access secure, and dual‑SIM support (nano + eSIM), Wi‑Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6.0 ensure strong connectivity.

Like the 15T, the Xiaomi 15T Pro retains the same RAM, storage and battery capacity but upgrades the processor and charging speeds. It is powered by MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9400+, an octa‑core chip capable of handling productivity, streaming, gaming and scrolling with ease. The 15T Pro also increases charging capabilities with both 90 W wired and 50 W wireless HyperCharge, which further cuts down on downtime and keeps the large battery topped up quickly. Connectivity improves too with support for Wi‑Fi 7 while retaining the same SIM options and biometric features. Overall, the 15T Pro pushes the performance envelope further while maintaining the efficient hardware design of its sibling.

Leica’s Authentic and Vibrant colour modes, the Master‑Lens system (23 mm, 35 mm, 46 mm, 75 mm) and motion‑tracking autofocus enable creative compositions, while digital zoom extends up to 60×. For video, the 15T records 4K footage at 30 or 60 fps and can slow action to 120, 240 or 960 fps depending on resolution. Like its sibling, the 15T Pro employs the same Leica Summilux optics but upgrades its telephoto and video capabilities. The Master‑Lens system expands to include a 115 mm focal length, digital zoom rises to 100×, and additional modes such as super macro, Supermoon, and Pro RAW broaden creative control.
